As a starting point for the develoment of an integrated system in the field of structural design, data management and flowing is the basic problem to be considered firstly. In this study, a large amount of data has been resolved and arranged by using the concept of 'view point' and 'layer' to each design step. Using the concept of view point,data have been systematized to each design step, and using the concept of layer, data have been put in hierarchical order. Engineering database having the different characteristics from relational database can be established by using the data model and database from the view point-layer concepts. Once engineering database are established,the problems of data flowing, data sharing and data hierarchies are effectively solved. In this study, each disassembled component is classified and defined as an independent object according to the view point-layer. And its difference of expression, and relationships between them are analyzed. These independent objects according to the view point-layer facilitate the modification of pre-defined object and expansion to other objects.
