대학교육시설의 다원화된 계획방법을 정립하고 대학캠퍼스의 성장.변화 분석을 통하여 변화의 정도, Pattern에 대응하는 시설의 재배치 및 증축의 방향제시를 위한 연구의 일환이다. 본 연구에서는 13개 조사대학의 학부,대학원생,교수 현황 및 활동상황과 시설의 규모와 배분,강좌규모,수업시간수, 점유율,이용율 등을 WICHE분류에 의거 조사.분석하였다. 현황을 토대로 대학의 기능과 시설,정책과 대학설치기준령을 비교 고찰하고, 교육,연구, 사회봉사등의 기능에 따른 대학유형별로 특성에 맞는 공간의 확충과 배분이 이루어져야 함을 파악하였다. 즉 대학교육시설은 대학원중심교육, 학부중심교육에 따라 특히 계열의 특성별로 시설이 융통성과 적응성을 가지고 성장.변화에 대응되어야 할 것이다.
