At the moment, there is a sharp increasing in the number of clinics for oriental medicine. However there have been ment troubles in making plans for efficient oriental medical facilities because of the lack of proper guidelines related to the design of them. It is necessary, therefore, to prepare planning guidelines for Oriental Medical Clinics. In order to do that, this study has classified them into 6 types on the basis of the number of the physicians, the circulation of patients and the existence of the diagnostic laboratory, and has drawn out the spacial characteristics of each type. The result of this study shows the functional relationships of spaces, the proportions of departmental areas in each type. The services of Oriental Medicine and the 79 current architectural drawings of Oriental Medical Clinics have been analysed for this study.
