This study aims at selecting the folk houses conserved at Deokbong-ri located in the city of Anseong, Gyeonggi-do, Korea, restoring as it is and leaving the traditional main life led continuously by those living in the village in the past, discovering the formal characteristics shown commonly in the folk houses of the village, and clarifying the factors of forming them through the life cultures of the inhabitants. The method of research is to use mainly ethnographic interview rooted in cultural anthropology, to return to the past point of time when they led a traditional life, and to observe and interpret the residence from the viewpoint of the inhabitants.
