This study reports the survey and analysis of literature and cases on the development of Korean Green Tourism, which is in practice to foster economy of rural areas in Korea. Future directions of green tourism development in Korea are:
1) Considering the agricultural environment and conditions in Korea, "Green Tourism" could be encouraged to elevate the living standards of rural areas in Korea. 2) It is necessary to consolidate the dispersed green tourism facilities in a region in order to network them. 3) For ensuring repeated visitors to green tourism sites and local economic development, it is necessary to establish an organization whose mission is to provide the consultation with all levels of facility and management planning on green tourism operations. 4) Natural environment in rural areas is the most important resource in Korea where have large mountainous areas and agricultural lands, so it needs to be formulated the policies, which can promote the concepts of conservation and sustainable development on green tourism operations.
