Recently, information technology(IT) and information system(IS) have spread rapidly in many industries. Information
system is not just an assistant factor but the one of the critical success factors(CSF) to conduct the business. Like other
industries, IT and IS contribute the improvement in service quality and productivity in the construction industry. However,
there have been few research projects on the assessment of the construction industry's informatization. But even these
projects do not deal with end users' viewpoints but with only IT experts'.
This study determines an informatization sentiment index that can evaluate informatization of construction fields based on
end user's viewpoints. The result of this paper is expected to be used as a basic data for promoting an informatization
strategy of a construction company in the future with considering end users' requirements. This paper provides frequency
analysis of the present condition on the informatization of the construction industry and the informatization sentiment index
based on end users' viewpoints. The analysis results show several weak points of construction informatization particularly
at construction sites.
