Vibrating fresh concrete to make good concrete works as a factor decreasing quality because it causes bad filling or
segregation when vibration time is too long or short and curing method works as a important factor that decreases
quality if sufficient water isn't maintained. The lightweight concrete has specially lower weight than usual concrete but
has a possibility to occur segregation with difference of cement matrix and aggregate density when is vibrated, so it is
important to control vibrating and curing concrete. In this respect, the purpose of this paper is the investigation of field
application by comparing effect of compressive strength with vibrating and curing factor, when the lightweight concrete
with EPS beads that has light weight and economic property is applied in the field. So we made an experiment on the
above two factors and the results were as follows.
For the effect of vibrating, as segregation rates were higher the compressive strengths were decreased, so the
lightweight concrete with EPS beads didn't need vibrating or had short vibrating time or need to use vibrator with
lower vibrating frequency.
For the effect of curing condition, when the lightweight concretes with EPS beads were deposited in the field, It was
supposed that the batches for structural use and batches of EPS substitution rate 50, 60% for insulation layer on the
slab need moisture curing but the batches of EPS substitution rate 70, 80% for insulation layer made no difference
though they were leaved in the air
