The ancient tomb mural of Kokuryo indicated that the form and color of Seons were used basically on the neckline, wristline of sleeves, and hemline. Also it indicated that the color of Seons were used various and diverse contrasting them with clothing color. In ancient Kokuryo Seon occupied a main position as elements of the beauty of costume and indicated the characteristics of national costume.
Soon means a narrow cloth added to the edge of costume.
At the beginning, Seon was originated to prevent from fraying warp of cloth or wearing out of doth. However, with the progress of clothing culture, it is used to satisfy the human desire of decoration and enhance the function of costume.
