‘The sense’ has the enormous power in Korean novel of present time. But this is to show the very unfamiliar situation with the tradition of Korean modern novel.
The political tradition and masses romanticism of Korean novel excluded 'the sense'. The post-modern situation since 1990's made the place of 'the sense' newly. Because 'the sense' could be identified as the mediation which supports 'individuality' of human being and brings about 'return of the repressed' with 'the body'. But nowadays the power of 'the sense' maintained and concurrently corrupted by the capital, power and the technology which seize 'the sense' totally. So 'the sense' is the space where is neither neutral nor transparent. The dilemma situation where the sense is placed has the deep relationship with the crisis of the Korean modern novel.
