This is replies submitted to a questionnaire on the understanding of the Korean traditional school uniform and the preference degree choosing two high schools, Jinjoo Sam Hyun girls' high school and Busan Gayia high school, 244 students. Basing on this, after designing the primary pattern and though the three times attempting fitting test, this study presented aesthetic, functional and fashionable pattern which is suitable to human body, comfortable Korean traditional school uniform. As evaluating this, this study was compared with and analyzed into by the sensory evaluation, and concluded as follows.
1. The feeling of satisfaction and preference degree
Preferring to Korean traditional school uniform, they preferred the form of the match, Jugories(a sort of upper piece)and skirts the most. In case of Jugories, they preferred the length of the fitting style girth of a waist, somewhat short, rounded collars, Ipsoul pockets, dress shirt sleeves, white color. In case of skirts, students preferred H-line of the upper knee length, applique pocket, blue color, synthetic fiber.
2. Study pattern
Owing to the much Jugories width, front dart was lengthened by 3㎝, starting from the point of 9㎝, at the point of back neck, extra room of the girth of back waist was taken in 0.8㎝ or so for the dart, the width of front shoulder was taken in 10.2㎝, the width of back shoulder was taken in 10.5㎝. The front neckline being sewing on collar, was lengthen by 9㎝, the length and back neckline were lengthened by each 14.5㎝, 8.5㎝ and the collar was sewed on after being cut by 1.5㎝.
Considering activity and comfort, the armhole of Jugori was cut by 2.5㎝ for enough margin, the hole line of Jugori was lengthen by 1㎝. The sleeves were shorten 1㎝ from the hole length. Cap heights was lowered by AH/4＋1.5㎝ considering activity, both of sleeves ends are moved into 1㎝ or so. In case of skirts, the hole length was taken in by 4㎝, the hole width was lengthened by 5㎝, and the length and the width of side pleats concerning with activity were lengthened by each 5㎝, 4㎝.
3. The test for appearance and functionality
The average score of sensory evaluation on outward appearance in case of Jugori, was 3.86 for the research pattern, which was higher than 2.95 for the test pattern, as a result of verifying significant differences in the test between the two patterns through 1 t-test, significant differences were found between the two pattern in items such as the extra room of bust, front width, location of the armhole, the pleats on armhole, the shoulder width, as 0.001 degree. In items of the extra room of hipline, the length of side pleats, the length of skirts, as 0.001 degree in case of skirt, the research pattern is significantly superior to the test pattern.
The average score of the sensory evaluation on functionality was 4.51 for the research pattern, which was higher than 2.71 for the test pattern, according to the results of verifying significant differences, there wasn't large differences as 0.001 degree in items such as walking wide steps, going up stairs.
In the result of the synthetic sensory evaluation, research pattern is significantly superior to the test pattern in item such as static, dynamic posture.
