Since 24 wooden tablets(木簡), excavated at Sungsan Mountain Fortress(城山山城) in Haman(咸安), have reported to the academic world in 1998, total 116 wooden tablets were reported in Aug. 2004. In relation to these wooden tablets, early studies showed the point in issue that its function was a name list and identification card(名籍), or the wooden tablets for name list of supplies(荷札). But I inquired form of this wooden tablets and its entries, and I believe that its character was not identication card but the name list of supplies. Furthermore, As for investigating wooden tablets in 2004 in which chinese character were engraved together with officer(外位所持者；man who received office rank in countries, not the capital) and millet, whose meaning was gript for collective grain, obviously It appear to me that the wooden tablets were the name lists of supplies.
From such a viewpoint that this wooden tablet in Sungsan Monutain Fortress were the wooden tablets for name list of supplies(荷札), this study looked into the structure and function of Wooden tablets excavated at Sungsan Mountain Fortress. Above all, this study directed my attention to the analysis of wooden tablet to itself. that is to say, to contemplate collectively Size, form, entry of item, written formula, written style, et cetera in wooden tablets, this study show that these tablets were written at two producinge disticts; firstly, most of wooden tablets at the time made from Kam Mun(甘文), Shang Chu(上州) in silla; secondly, from Kuribeol(仇利伐). these wooden tablets transferred from producing districts to Sungsan mountain fortress for supplies's label bound for the destination. Later, however, if its function came to an end, it fell into disuse en bloc.
Through this inquiring process, I understood the function of wooden tablets as the following: (1) to function as a inspective collection in collective districts; (2) to function as the inspection of delivered war materials in Sungsan Mountain Fortress, the final destination; (3) to function as a name list of a thing for custody, I think so.
In the end, in the historical evidence that the wooden tablet was used by Silla dynasty at that time, I think that the role of Chu(州) was largely and widely applied, as a local district in the sphere of collection and transportation. And in the historical materials that silla dynasty worked stably a considerably systematic structure of collection in the middle and the latter of 6th century, I dealt with this inquiry into the course of this analyses of the producing district and the function of wooden tablet, Sungsan Mountain Fortress's remains.
