The performance of a mixed-flow fan depends on both the configurations of impeller and the number of guide vanes. In this experimental study total 4 mixed-flow fans(90°, 72.5°, 55°, 37.5°) with guide vanes(4, 8, 12ea) were designed and their performance measured to investigate the effects of them. Mixed-flow fan 55° back swept angle with 8 guide vanes has the best characteristic in terms of performance and efficiency and the results show that both back swept angle and the number of guide vanes have large effect on the efficiency.
