Experimental condensation heat transfer coefficients were measured for in a horizontal smooth tube and a horizontal micro-fin tube with HFC-134a. The test section was a straight, horizontal smooth tube and a straight, horizontal internally-microfinned tube which had a 9.52㎜ outside diameter and 5225㎜ long. In this study, the micro-fin tube had 60 fins with a height of 0.12㎜ and a spiral angle of 25°. The smooth tube was 8.32㎜ insaide diameter. The condensation test section was composed of the tube-in-tube and counter flow. The working fluid inside the inner tube and cooling water flowed through a surrounding annulus. The local heat transfer coefficients were taken during condensation of each small section. When the condensation heat transfer coefficients of micro-fin tube was compared to those of smooth tube at similiar mass flux, it was 30% to 60% higher. Enhancement factor varied from 1.3 to 1.6 during condensation. The experimental data of condensation heat transfer coefficients were compared to several empirical correlations. Cavallini and Zecchin's correlation seemed to be qualitatively was good agreement with the present data. Thus modified correlation of the condensation heat transfer coefficient for both smooth and micro-fin tube was maded.
