An electronic starter using MOSFET has been designed to take advantage of ideal preheating and starting features which can extend the lifetime of fluorescent lamps.
The preheating circuit of the developed electronic starter is consisted of four parts - a full-wave rectifier circuit, an FET switching circuit, a timer circuit for the gate switching, and a circuit for end-of-life protection.
