As we know, the relationship between South Korea and North Korea have changed more friendly. But, in spite of these peaceful atmosphere, it is the real that our nation is divided and still confront each other. Therefore, the studies on other side have had the political intention which is trying to gain the superiority of their own system. In other words, the studies have had a certain political and social purpose to keep their system. We have to admit the fact that the same kind of fault have taken in the field of folklore including folk tales.
The scholar of North Korea, Go Jeong Ok criticized academic world of South Korea lack of the subjectivity and keep going the antinational studies. Especially, he attacked like this : the studies of South Korea is the combination of U. S. imperialism and the minor capitalists of South Korea and the South scholars couldn't unite the whole nation in their thesis.
And, the scholar, Im Chae Uk of South Korea pointed out that the North Korea have abused the folklore politically, not cultural use. Namely, Mr. Im said North Korea scholars have evoked the class consciousness and combative spirit against the vestiges of feudalism and couldn't reach the right path of folklore studies.
In conclusion, the criticism towards other side between the South and North never gives to a little help for the assurance of national homogeneity. And, this thesis will start by suggesting these problems of academic world, and pursues to the homogeneity of the South and North.
