Ubiquitous means it has omnipresent calculating capability, in other word, the computing is available anytime anywhere. Ubiquitous computing enables to control appliances and other facilities on everyday life while making it effectively invisible to user. Ubiquitous environment of computing creates variable living area and new life style. Digitalized home in ubiquitous environment will improve quality of people's life and their residences.
In this study, firstly, we summarize characteristics and concept of ubiquitous home. Secondly, current domestic ubiquitous apartments and their applied system are investigated in order to find out current position of ubiquitous home environment. Finally, we analyze factors between spaces, technology and residents through observation in detail. This study will contribute to provide fundamental data as guidelines for architectural planning and designing of ubiquitous home.
