This study is the mechanical properties and chemical components of rolled steels for welded structure, SM 490 manufactured by the Electric Furnace. For test the mechanical properties and chemical components of plates, the plate of thick 50㎜, 60㎜, 70㎜ were used. The conclusions for each test are as followed.
(1) There are little deviation values at the five major element, in the test of the chemical composition. The carbon equivalent is less than 0.447 without regard to the factors both the plate thickness and the location in the cross-section of the plates. The welding composition paramerer is less than 0.269.
(2) Both yield strength and tensile strength are satisfied with Standard fully.
(3) All specimens are not cracked without regard to the factors of the thickness.
(4) The specimens are homogeneous along the direction of the cross section in the Macro structure decrtion for steel, there is no other materials or any crack in the center of the specimens.
