The increase of social concern with the infrastructure maintenance and management makes it necessary to develop various types of information systems to support the management of social infrastructure in Korea. However most of the existing systems have decreased the practical usability, not because undue values were given to develop the functions of computistical aggregation on maintenance data, but because little consideration is given to present working conditions in practice.
The major purpose of this study is to develop KOrea ROad Maintenance BUsiness System(KOROMBUS), an information system for infrastructure management. This research limits the scope to highway infrastructure which is being executed under the Korea MOCT. Business process of Local Highway Maintenance & Construction Service(LHMCS), as a authority of highway, was analyzed for user requirements focused on the core business process. And the authors have discovered the problem that management data of major public facilities was duplicately reported to both the KOROMBUS and the FMS(Facility Management System) of KISTEC(Korea Infrastructure Safety & Technology Corporation). To resolve the above problem, this study has set up the connection between two systems.
