끝동매미충에 대한 國內?勵品種, 系統 및 IRRI選拔品種의 抵抗性程度, 그들 品種에 대한 끝동매미충의 産卵選好性, 食餌選好性, Antibiosis 및 몇개 地域의 끝동매미충에 대한 벼의 抵抗性差異 有無를 알기 위해 試驗을 實施한바 아래와 같은 結果를 얻었다. 1. 國內?勵品種은 모다 感受性(S) 反應을 보였고IR667에서 얻어진 品種과 系統은 中間性(M) 反應을 보였다. 2. IRRI 選拔品種中 Bir-tsan-3, MTU-15, DK-1, DV-139, H105, ASD-7, MGL-2, PTB-18, Muthumanikam 및 Vellanlangalayan은 抵抗性 反應을 보였고 IR20과 Mudgo는 中度抵抗性을 보였으며 IR8, IR22, Pankari-203, Su-Yai-20 및 T(N)1은 感受性 反應을 나타내었다. 3. Nephotettix cincticeps와 N. impicticeps間에 현저히 다른 反應을 나타낸 品種은 H105, IR8, Mudgo, Pankari-203 및 Su-Yai-20이었다. 4. 産卵選好性은 品種에 따라 현저한 차이가 있었는데 比較的 많은 産卵數를 보인 品種은 Suweon 215, Shirogane, Su-Yai-20 및 Milsung 等이었고 比較的 적은 品種은 Palkweng, Kimmaze, Mudgo 및 Akibare 等이었다. 5. 食餌選好性도 品種에 따라 현저한 차이가 있었는데 比較的 附着蟲數가 많은 品種은 Shirogane, Shin#2, Patal 및 Nongbaek 等이었고 比較的 적은 附着蟲數를 보인 品種은 Su-Yai-20, TKM-6, Mudgo 및 Murunga 137 等이 었다. 6. 幼苗의 抵抗性과 産卵選好性, 食餌選好性들間에 有意한 相關은 없었으나 幼苗의 抵抗性과 食餌選好性을 比較的 깊은 關係가 있는것 같었다. 7. 供試品種에 대한 孵化若蟲의 生存蟲率에 있어서 PTB-18은 3日만에, Muthumanikam은 7日만에, Vellanlangalayan과 H105는 8日만에, 100의 死蟲率을 보였으며 그 外에도 抵抗性品種에서 낮은 生存蟲率을 보였다. 8. 水原, 裡里, 密陽 및 晋州 4個 地域의 끝동매미충에 대한 벼의 反應에 차이가 없어 끝동매미충의 生態型은 찾아 볼 수 없었다.
Experiments were conducted to study resistance of rice varieties originated from Korea-and IRRI-sources to the green rice leafhopper, Nephotettix cincticeps UHLER. The nature of varietal resistance to the insect was evaluated from the viewpoints of ovipositional and feeding preferences and antibiosis. A trial was also made to survey local biotypes of the green rice leafhopper possible to show different reaction for the rice varieties. The varieties resistant to the green rice leafhopper were mostly IRRI sources such as Bir-tsan-3, MTU-15, DK-1, DV-139, H105, ASD-7, MGL-2, PTB-18, Muthumanikam, Vellanlangalayan, and the domestic commercial varieties were generally susceptible, but only the reaction of Tong-il and its lines were moderate. Ovipositional and feeding preferences were significantly different among the varieties, but no correlation was observed between the two preferences. The nature of varietal resistance to the insect seemed to be related with the feeding preference, not ovipositional preference. The green rice leafhoppers confined on the resistant varieties such as PTB-18, Muthumanikam, H105 etc. suffered higher nymphal mortality than the susceptible varieties such as T(N)1 and Jinheung. Though the varieties Mudgo and Suweon 214 were moderately resistant and moderate in plant reaction, the insects confined on two varieties suffered relatively higher nymphal mortality. No local biotypes of green rice leafhoppers with respect to plant reaction were found.
