This paper aims to evaluate welders skill in welding connection of column to column and column to beam and to make them know supplementary relevant facts. Welders make 4 plates for specimens. The specimens for tests are designed and made respectively. The test for evaluation is tensile test, impact test, hardness test, macro test, and bending test. The test results are as follows.
(1) The capacity of specimens in the mechanical properties meets the requirements of SM 490 A.
(2) There are problems of rough finishes on the surface of welds and defective fusion in the part of root.
Through the retraining, the welders have had important skills and the problems have been sloved. The sound welds can be obtained, if the interlayer temperature is kept and the tests before, in, and after welding are conducted.
