This study is on the costumes of the man of noble in 16th century through the excavated costumes of Sim, Su-roon's tomb.
The excavated costumes indicate that the man of noble in 16th century wore Jang-yu, Aek-ju-eum, Cheol-lik, and Bae-ja for everyday dress, and Cheol-lik, Dap-ho, Jik-ryeong, Dan-ryeong for official dress.
The construction of the costume is diverse with single layered, double layered, padded , and quilted. The size is fairly big and the sewing is elaborate.
Some of the excavated costumes had threads at the corners, and some of the others had marks that they were worn clothes. This means that not all the excavated costumes are made for the funeral, but they were also clothes made to wear in his everyday life. For the shroud Jeok-sam, Jang-yu, Aek-ju-eum, and Cheol-lik were used and Jik-ryeong underneath, Dan-ryeong and Dap-ho on the top.
