In order to examine further correlations between elders' leisure activity type, their perceived sense of freedom and their social adaptability as well as the interactions between those 3 factors, this study intended to determine possible associations between differentiated senior leisure education, senior leisure activity type, total personal perceived sense of freedom and sub-factors of social adaptability.
By means of Stratified Cluster Random Sampling(SCRS), this study took samples from elders who lived in Gangwon province as of 2007 and joined senior leisure activity program. From the population, total 500 elders were sampled. And data from total 472 elders were used for analysis, except 28 invalid data as deemed incomplete or missing in part.
All questionnaire data with complete answers were collected, and any data deemed duplicate, incomplete or little reliable were excluded from data analysis, while only valid sample data were coded according to coding guideline. Coded data were individually input to computer, and were computerized using SPSS 14.0 for Windows for analytic purpose.
To verify validity and reliability of questionnaire, this study conducted factor analysis, reliability test, mean comparison and analysis of covariance(ANCOVA).
As a result, this study came to the following findings:
First, it was found that elders' leisure activity type was associated with their perceived sense of freedom.
Second, it was found that elders' leisure activity type was associated with their social adaptability.
