The purpose of this study was investigate the effects of 12weeks aerobic exercise training and combined exercise training(aerobic exercise and resistance exercise) on visceral fat and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) in middle-aged obese Men. Men with visceral to subcutaneous fat ratio(>0.4) were recruited. Subjects were classified into three groups: Control group(n=7), Aerobic exercise training group(n=7) and Combined exercise training group(n=7). They participated in the program for 12 weeks. VO₂max was determined for each subjects by administering a treadmill exercise test. The aerobic exercise was composed of 40-50%HRR during first 6 weeks, 60-70%HRR during 12weeks, 60minutes a day for 5 day a week. The combined exercise training performed that the resistance training was composed of 60-65% of 1RM during first 6 weeks (12-15 repetitions per set, 3set), 70-75% of 1RM during 12weeks (8-12 repetitions per set, 3set), 60minutes a day for 5 day a week and the aerobic exercise was composed of 40-50%HRR during first 6 weeks, 60-70%HRR during 12weeks, 30minutes a day for 5 day a week. SF was significantly(p<.05) difference among groups on the decreasing in aerobic training group.
1. TF and VF were significantly(p<.001) difference among groups on the decreasing in aerobic training group and combined training group.
2. VEGF was significantly(p<.05) difference among groups on the increasing in aerobic training group.
In conclusion, we could consider that aerobic exercise training is more helpful to increase of VEGF level than combined training. So, we could propose ‘aerobic exercise training’ in order to increase the level of VEGF. Furthermore, we may conclude that more studies about various type of aerobic exercise training should be needed.
