The stationary room temperature (SRT) after grafting affected the post-grafted growth of ruby balls (Gymnocalycium mihanovichii var. friedrichii). This study was carried out to investigate the effect of SRT on graft-take and post-grafted growth of grafted cacti with regard to marketability. The scion of ‘Seolhong’, a new cultivar of ruby ball, and the rootstock of H. trigonus were grafted. On grafted, the grafted cacti were moved to the dark stationary rooms with air temperatures of 25, 30, and 35℃ for grafting efficiency improvement for eight days and then planted in a greenhouse. The graft-take at 62 days after grafting was mostly high around 97% in all SRT treatments. However, the after-grafted growth of grafted cacti was best at 25℃ followed by 30 and 35℃. More than 50% of the marketable grafted cacti ruby balls were produced at 25℃ and 30℃ SRT, while less than 25% at 35℃ SRT. There was no significance difference in the globe color among the SRT treatments. Results show that the marketability of the grafted cacti was affected by stationary room temperature due to the effect of temperature on their growth.
