본 연구는 국내 모 상용자동차 제조 사업장의 근골격계질환의 실태에 관한 조사로2004년과 2007년 실시한 2차 유해요인조사 결과를 비교하였다. 조사결과 설문조사에 의한 근골격계 질환 통증 호소정도에 있어서는 2004년 대비 전체적으로 16.7%감소하였으며, NIOSH 기준에 의한 관리대상자는 41.9% 감소하였다. 또한, 의학적 검진을 요하는 인천대학교 기준의 경우 25.1% 감소한 것으로 나타났다. 더욱이 이들에 대한 의학적 검진 조사 결과 검진 대상자 160명 중 약 31.2%(50)가 자신들의 직무와 관련한 근골격계질환자로 판정되었다. 따라서 이들에 대한 의학적 치료와 함께 전체 작업의 인간공학적 평가를 바탕으로 한 개선이 시급히 요구되는 것으로 나타났다.
