Women's issues are not only the issues of women themselves, but also the issues of the social structure. And, since finding the solution for such women's issues and bringing changes to the society could only be made possible by means of politics, women's participation in politics, especially practicing a direct influential power in the process of making political decision, could be very meaningful. In a region where a traditional social order stubbornly resists the establishment of any new value systems, such as in Iran, the issue of women's political representation could be understood in correlation with the overall social trends and changes. The purpose of this study is to examine the changes in women's social role and the status using case study and analyzing the reality of women's political representation and social consciousness in Iran, a country known by its traditional political culture. This study used a parallel analysis of documentary records and experimental field studies.
