Environmental capacity(Carrying capacity) is a relatively new concept in growth management. Its earliest application date from the 1960's, and most of the current application were begun during the 1970's and are only now coming to fruition.
There are a number of the current issues in environemental capacity definition and application. So the purpose of this article is to identify and describe practical applications of the carrying capacity concept, classify types of capacity methods and applications, and recommend further technical research, assessment method of the sustainability in regions & nation. In order to analyze the collected information, this article developed an anlytical framework that included the main items of interest for each application, such as the scale and context, types of capacity dealt with, methods used, and the like. From these analyses and investigations, this article formulated our conclusions and recommendations.
