The purpose of the study is to describe the types of crisis communications and to investigate the level of acceptance by publics against crisis communications interacting with reporting frames. Both content analysis and an experiment were conducted to answer the research questions. According to the results of content analysis. crisis communications were utilized differently by newspapers and varied by reporting frames. Crisis communications were used in order: denial ＞ repair ＞ diminish communications. And newspapers focused on different crisis communications following their reporting ideologies. The experiment showed that research participants accepted repair communications more than diminish and denial communications. The results also confirmed that reporting frames influenced the acceptance level of crisis communications. When thematic frames were used, the acceptance level of crisis communications was higher than any other frames. These results imply that the current level of communication acceptance must be very low because episodic frames are mainly used in reality. Research implications were discussed for raising the effectiveness of crisis communications based on the research results.
