The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of physical activity level on health and exercise-related risk factors of hypertension and diabetes Patients. The subjects were 65-year old or older hypertensive and diabetic patients and normal control group (n=402) who visited the education center operating programs to manage hypertension and diabetes in D city and its partner hospitals. statistical analyses were performed using SPSS PC+ and Window 15.0. frequency and X2 analyses were computed for comparisons among the different evaluation of exercise-related risk factors(PAR-Q) and exercise habits and multiple regression analyses were computed for the effects of physical activity level. analysis study were as follows; 1. In health-related characteristics, the hypertensive diabetic group showed higher ratios of risk factors than other groups. 2. In the PAR-Q, with regard to the occurrence or non-occurrence of chest pain during exercise, dizziness or consciousness loss, and treatment or non-treatment relating to hypertension or the heart, a significantly lower rate than the hypertensive diabetic groups. 3. In regular exercise habits, the disease groups performed regular exercise significantly less than the normal group (p<.05). In regular and moderate exercise, the exercise type was significantly different between the normal group and the disease groups (p<.001). In the behavioral change steps, there was a significant difference in the disease groups and the normal group (p<.001). 4. In the physical activity level, the diabetes group had a significantly lower frequency of high-strength physical activity than the normal group (p<.05). 5. In particular, in the pre-plan step, the hypertensive group had the highest ratio at 20.7%, and in the retention step, the normal group had the highest ratio at 80.6%. In the analysis of factors influencing physical activity level, regular exercise was common factor to the all variables. Heart and joint problems were the most significant variables influencing physical activity in hypertensive diabetic group.
