The main purposes of this study are to understand dental technician's cognizance and level of practice in cross infection, and to empirically clarify the factors impacting on the technician's cognizance and level of practice in cross infection. Questionnaire surveys were conducted using the random sampling method and finally 417 questionnaires were used for the final descriptive and multiple regression analyses.
Results of this thesis are as follows: Women dental technicians are more likely to recognize cross infection compared to men dental technicians. Although dental technicians are aware of the cross infection when they are working in the dental technique center to produce a dental technical material, they do not recognize exactly what type of virus infection occurs. The evaluated level of practiced actions to prevent cross infection was low and the dental technique material which was from the dentistry did not have a mark or an indication about the infected patient, indicating that the dental technicians do not even acknowledge if the patients are infected or not.
Multiple regression analyses reveals that age and dental technician's checking the teeth in the mouth have statistically significant relationships with dental technician's cognizance. In addition, health condition and dental technician's checking the teeth in the mouth show statistically significant impacts on the dental technician's level of practice in cross infection.
Finally, some suggestions are introduced in order to prevent the dental technicians from cross infection.
