Korea has made effort to strengthen economic cooperation with APEC member countries as a member of APEC because APEC is the largest market and the very important area in the world. Also Korea has been closely related economically with the members of APEC and expected to do the great role in APEC as a member of APEC.
But the trade dispute has been continuously occurred in APEC member countries and it has become prime factor to disturb the trade increase in APEC area. Therefore it's important to research the actual condition of trade dispute and find methods including arbitration mechanism to settle trade dispute between and strengthen the economic cooperation Korea and other APEC member countries.
First of all, we must study the efficient methods of trade dispute management in APEC. Especially we had better establish the trade dispute solving organization and/or arbitration rules like NAFTA Commercial Arbitration and Mediation Center for the Americas.
Second, we should study the character of the trade dispute and the cause and a method of prevention of the trade dispute in the APEC member countries.
Third, we should study the use of arbitration to settle the trade dispute between Korea and the other APEC countries in the KCAB and consider a counter - measure against depression of use of arbitration to settle the trade dispute between Korea and the other APEC countries.
