최근의 스마트폰은 UI 또는 엔터테인먼트의 목적으로 가속도계 및 자세계를 제공하고 있으며 이들 정보를 이용한 게임 등의 엔터테인먼트 어플리케이션은 물론 좌표 등의 위치 정보를 통한 위치기반 서비스도 이미 제공중이다. 늘어가는 위치정보 서비스 내에서의 공간정보 질의회수 및 예측회수 증가는 장차 위치 정보 서비스 제공에 있어 서버측 인프라에 부하를 증대시킬 수 있다. 이에 이들 하드웨어가 제공하는 가속도 및 방위각을 활용하여 속도 및 진행방향 정보를 생성하고 이를 위치예측기에 활용하여 연산 속도 및 예측의 정확성 등의 성능을 향상시킬 수 있는 방안을 제시한다.
