Shield TBM method can make the tunnel structure safely in the very poor condition ground without the settlement influence. Shield TBM application case have been increase because the shallow tunnel necessity is increased due to concentrate the population in urban area, increase the price of land, protect the environment etc.
In this study, we introduce the special purpose and condition shield TBM to the understand the shield TBM technique development situation. And through the study of the shield TBM trouble and accident case, we propose the major disputed issues during the soft ground shield TBM design and construction.
