In this study, electrokinetics for heavy metal removal from contaminated soil of shooting range site was conducted in field-scale. From the overall results of the field application, we could make sure of acid-enhanced electrokinetic process and evaluate the performance of devices for the field electrokinetics. In order to firm up the commercialization of the field process designed in this study, the confirmed drawbacks, such as excessive consumption of electrolyte by drainage, precipitation in cathode compartment, low electrical effiency etc., have to be improved in the future study. The site-specific discrepancy on the soil condition should be throughly investigated before the installation and operation. Also, preliminary lab-scale tests are strongly required before the field application of electrokinetics to predict unexpected obstacles.
