A flow visualization study of neutrally-buoyant spherical particles has been carried out in microchannels at Reynolds numbers (Re) up to 100. An epi-fluorescence microscope combined with a CCD camera and double-pulsed Nd:YAG lasers are used. The solid particles undergo strong radial migration across fluid streamlines with increasing Re.
