Of the papers written that analyze the capacity region for spatial diversified Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs), few give emphasis on the tiered architecture for WMNs. In reality, the capacity of each tier behaves in a different way and this facts affect the capacity region. In addition to this, the use of directional antennas for spatial diversity requires us to consider power control and location awareness as factors that would affect capacity region analysis. This paper analyzes the capacity region of spatial diversified WMNs by extending works done for general wireless mesh networks to include power control and location-awareness. From the results of this paper, we can show the effect of power control and location awareness in analyzing the capacity of WMNs. Also, the contributions of the router tier and client tier in the capacity utilization is quantized into separate entities.
