The main purpose of this paper is to propose Web-based remote control system for mobile terminal, named Remote Phone Device Manager (RPDM), which uses technology of open mobile alliance device management (OMA DM). This system is capable of active inquiring and configuring the personal information of wireless-enabled mobile terminals from the user via Web browser. This paper designed and implemented DM client module on Symbian S60 Platform which is the dominating open platform for mobile terminals. The architecture of DM client module includes platform adaptation layer (PAL) to maximize portability against various S/W platforms. And we verified protocol behavior of DM client module using SyncML conformance test suit for device management (SeTS) provided by OMA. By using this module, we also designed and implemented the RPDM consisting of DM client/server, RPDM client/server. RPDM showed the new controlling method for mobile terminals via Web interface.
