This essay is to theoretically examine Chang Ha-Joon's developmental theory on the globalization through his famous books. Recently, there is a very large of pros and cons surrounding Chang's view. He vehemently object it, because he lean against the globalization that IDPE (International development Policy Establishment; WTO, IMF, World Bank) asserts. Chang's discourse criticize IDPE's strategy in the view of historical contexts (=imperialistic experience in the late 19th century). According to historical lessons, the developing countries should use the powerful policy of strong state instead of free mark mechanism. The outcome of protectionism and industrial policy clearly appeared in 'Korea Model' postwar, as well as in Western countries of 19th century, These two policy are so called the 'historical ladder' that the developed countries had already kicked away prewar. Though Chang's criticism is very effective against the globalization trend since 1980s, however, his historiography lacks 'imperial'(=global) problems, the Vision of democratic society in the sense of political/historical perspectives.
