This study aimed at analysing the efficiency of 71 persimmon farms in Gosan area of Wanju-gun. The input variables for measuring the efficiency of persimmon farms were the cost of fertilizers, cost of non-hired labor, cost of agricultural chemicals, cost of employed labor, cost of capital, depreciation cost and other costs. The output variable was the persimmon production volume. As a model of efficiency analysis, DEA(data envelopment analysis), one of the non-parametric tests, was used. The result of analysis indicated that CRS, VRS and SE were 0.4878, 0.6532 and 0.7276 respectively. As for returns to scale, IRS, CRS and DRS were found in 51, 15 and 5 farms respectively. Cultivated by experience and age, when differences in efficiency, technical efficiency and scale efficiency of growing experience and age on the technical efficiency and pure technical efficiency were statistically significant. Lastly, it was found that excessive elements existed in the entire input element. Therefore, efforts for improvement will be necessary.
