This study presents a new method of iris identification algorithm for iris recognition. This will be consists of three major fundamental steps: image processing; image localization; and IER detection and extraction. Iris localization is based on the logic of variation of intensity values specifically on the distributions characteristics of the gray values. It is likely expected that the new algorithm for iris identification in iris images is likely to give a better performance for biometric authentication or identification.
