The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships among the image of middle and high school intramural, image of physical education, preference for physical education class, and intention to participate in lifetime physical activities. This study used data collected from 284 middle and high school students. For data analysis, SPSS 18.0 was first utilized to conduct frequency analyses, reliability analyses, correlation analyses, and then AMOS 7.0 was used to perform confirmatory factor analysis(CFA) for construct validity and structural equation analysis(SEM) for testing hypotheses. The results indicated that (1) the image of school intramural (ß=.41, p<.05) influenced the image of physical education, (2) the image of physical education(ß=.73, p<.05) had a significant influence on preference for physical education class, (3) the image of physical education(ß=.69, p<.05) influenced intention to participate in lifetime physical activities, and (4) preference for physical education class(ß=.19, p<.05) had a significant influence on intention to participate in lifetime physical activities. Lastly, the current study offered a discussion including limitation of this study and directions for future study.
