This research was conducted to approach solving problems of psychological and environmental factors of hearing impaired athletes related to career by counseling. Sample athlete was consisted of one 32-year-old professional acquired hearing impaired level 2-sprinter, and the research tried to report the effective cases based on Rogers" anthropocentric counseling technique. A sign language was used as the counseling method and psychological characteristics were analyzed from resulting documentations of the process. This research tried to allocate enough time through research field work, counseling session, and formation of rapport for reliability and credibility of the data. In addition, multianglular analysis was used to secure the reliability of the data. Sample athlete"s psychological problems were lack of motivation and confidence, and behavioral problems were difficulties during training session due to the absence of communication with supervisors and coaches. Counseling results to solve those problems were; firstly, counseling had positive effects on athlete"s low level of motivation and confidence, and secondly, counseling showed positive effects on athlete"s behavioral problems such as relationships with supervisors and coaches, and difficulties during training sessions. With these counseling results analyzed to approach solving problems through athlete"s verbal reactions, and counseling suggested affecting positive impacts on hearing impaired athlete"s psychological problems.
