One of spheres that are insignificant among researches on Korean modern poetry is long poem. It is the sphere that isn’t easy from prescribing genre to a work. Shin Dong-yeop, Seong Chun-bok and Kim Jong-mun showed historical imagination through long poem. The historical imagination at which these people looked wasn’t what is single. They was observing, recognizing and introspecting the 1960s with each different sight. And, these processes made their voice toward the world. Shin Dong-yeop had depicted a forecast for a hope through combining historical event and fictional characters. On the other hand, Seong Chun-bok tried to dig up today’s problematic situation by calling up the historical space. Kim Jong-mun did put Seoul’s fragmental images, which stand for city, civilization, and modern age in industrialization side by side like modernist, thereby having indicated apocalyptic imagination on the modern period, modern people, and modern consciousness.
