The production grammar is take the specific language as a starting point, thus the exploration language universal law, achieved finally clarifies human’s cognition system, the thought rule and human’s essential attribute goal. The production grammar research in the rationale, the theory nature, the theory goal, the theory method and the theory expression displayed with formerly any language theory completely different characteristic, constituted the production grammar own theory characteristic, caused the linguistics research the key point by to change to the language description to the language essence inquisition. Although the production grammar research is not take the foreign language teaching as the direct goal, but production grammar theory some principles and the research results may apply in the daily foreign language teaching activity, may analyze the student habitual criminal’s grammatical error from a new angle of view, very many language everybody relates the production grammar and modern Chinese the research, has had the positive influence regarding the modern Chinese grammar, however, regarding production grammar and foreign language teaching relations research also by far insufficient, therefore this article has made the comprehensive description on production grammar fundamental research present situation, has a benefit by the time to the foreign language teaching.
