Report Errors

Traditional news concept is characterized by the cluster of keyword such as professionalism, gatekeeping, standardization of news work flow, norm and routines, and news value. The new journalism environment associated with Web-based internet technology, however, is considered one of the important factors that change the news online. This research explores these new phenomenon in online journalism, especially focusing on the organizational principles of online news processes, the tension between the new role perception of online journalists and current news practices in the field, and the advent of new mode of news construction and the newsworthiness. A general implication is discussed in terms of contradiction between tradition and change of the journalistic world.
