The talks and agreements between Korea and Japan held by the former and late President Jeong-hee Park faced oppositions from citizens, when such talks and agreements started. Protests against these talks and agreements between Korea and Japan took place in provinces, cites and towns all across the nation. A series of protests against the talks and agreements between Korea and Japan were made for about one and a half year in Daejeon province. In the province, undergraduates and high school students took the lead to wage such protests. Here, it deserves to note that high school students, especially, took more active part in it. However, a fewer of number of these protests happened, in Daejeon, compared with any other provinces. And, the direct and fierce protests were seldom made against the administrative government Jeong-hee Park, there.
One of the biggest causes why most students opposed talks and agreements between Korea and Japan was owing to the attitude and method that the government showed and promoted, ahead of the talks between Korea and Japan. To do it, they asserted it is urgent that the long-standing hatred and antagonism that Korea and Japan have had, since the Japanese Imperialism colonized the Korean Peninsula, must be settled. A consensus among students accused the Japanese government of holding the talks with its superior and imperialistic attitude that Japan is the Asian Superpower, instead of expressing apology for the Japanese imperialist"s colonization over the Korean Peninsula. Also, they made attacks on the humiliating submissive and low-profile diplomatic stance that the Korean government showed during the talks. In addition, students had the skeptical viewpoints on the agreements between Korea and Japan. At the main critical issues were "Right of Claim" and "Peace Line". Students thought that once Korea and Japan conclude the agreements, Korea will be economically subordinate to Japan.
