The purpose of this study was to evaluate functional gait of walking age-related characteristics in the older adults. The older adults/Group Ⅰ, n=15) and young adults(Group Ⅱ, n=15) were recruited as the subjects who were no with experience of gait disorder and fall history.
To better understand, we quantitatively evaluated 128 variables(spatial and temporal, kinematic, kinetic parameters) were determined for each trial in gait biomechanics. As a results, spatial and temporal parameters that is cadence, speed, stride time, single support, stride length, step length were significant difference between Group Ⅰ and Group Ⅱ; such as slower self-selected gait speed, shorter stride length, increase double support time. And the statistical significant results of kinematic parameters were as followings: PO2, POE, HS2, HS3, HSE, HR1, HRE, KS3, KSE, AS3, AR2 and ARE(p＜.001). And then kinetic parameters and rocker based approach factor were as followings: KSM3, ACM2, ATP2, ATPE(p＜.001), respectively. With age, these data suggest that meaningful changes differ substantially results from 2nd ankle arocker and 3rd forefoot rocker between Group Ⅰ and Group Ⅱ. These estimates may identify important changes in order to improve the stability with safer or more stable an altered gait of normal aging.
