The purpose of this study is to verify the differences in occupants’ attention depending on indoor air temperature and to examine the time variance. The experiment was conducted from March 21 to April 17, 2011 in the artificial climate chamber with the air temperature controlled as 24.0℃ or 20.5℃. Subjects were 32 healthy males aged from 21 to 29 without medical history of neuropsychiatric disorder. Those subjects took the test on continuous performance(CPT) and academic performance while their electroencephalograms(EEGs) were being measured for 70 minutes. 7 spots (Fp1, Fp2, T3, T4, Cz, Fz, Pz) of frontal lobe, temporal lobe, parietal lobe were measured and sorted out according to frequency through power spectrum analysis and, followed by the analysis on attention ((SMR+M.Beta)/Theta) and relative power. As the result, a slightly cooler thermal environment would be favorable than a comfortable thermal environment 70 minutes performance of attention task.
