The intent of this article was to find poetics of sublime moments and how sublime moments contact with Kim Su-Yeong"s poetics in contrast, or the relationship of beauty and sublimity. His poetics holds negative for the aesthetic pleasures of bourgeois consciousness, desire for a new beauty as the essence of beauty, criticism of contemporary poetry, and desire for a new poetry. He think that consciousness, reason, or willingness cannot explain and understand things that might be related to the nature of the poem was, and emphasizes the newness rather passive. Through waiting and opening sublime is related to the belief anything may be coming. He gives an example the unconscious, nonsense, or dream nature of poetry, etc. as parameters that can be reached.
The relationship between beauty and the sublime correspond to the relationship between lyric and non-lyric, of poetry and non-poetry. If beauty and poetry would accept completed state, that will have to have certain limitations. In addition, these things stay only in the dimension of enjoyment and satisfaction, and will not deviate from a self-contained. To Recognize the nature of beauty and poetry is as a certain rule and order, to understand the unknown and confusion, and to understand the unknown and confusion make a big difference thinking at art and poetry.
Beauty is related to feeling of satisfaction to organize object and to feeling of generalizing and combining disparate things with any principles or rules things we look at any rule or rules. In contrast, the sublime is relevant to the double emotional feeling, in other words fascination and unpleasant feeling such as fear, dread and fascination that not to can be defined and not to understand. The enjoyment of beauty as the principal reason which takes the form of a complete moment is already journeys of its own limitations. The sublime allows you to exceed the limit point of beauty.

이 글은 김수영 시론에서 숭고의 계기들을 찾아내고 그 숭고의 계기들이 어떻게 김수영 시론과의 접점을 이루는지를 미와 숭고의 대비 속에서 혹은 그 관계 속에서 찾으려 했다. 김수영의 시론은 부르주아의 미적 쾌락에 대한 부정의식과 미의 본질로서의 새로운 미에 대한 열망 그리고 동시대의 시(시의 본질을 담보하지 못하는 서정시)에 대한 비판의식과 새로운 시에 대한 열망을 담고 있다. 의식과 이성 혹은 의지로는 설명할 수도 없고, 이해할 수 도 없는 것들이 시의 본질과 관련된다고 보는 김수영은 오히려 수동적인 새로움을 강조한다. 숭고한 것은 어떤 것에의 기다림과 열림을 통해 도래할 수 있다는 믿음이 내재해 있는 것이다. 시의 본질에 도달할 수 있는 매개로 무의미와 무의식 또는 꿈 등을 들기도 하는 이유가 여기에 있다 하겠다.
미와 숭고의 관계는 서정과 반서정 혹은 시와 반시의 관계와 상응한다고 할 수 있다. 완료태를 지향하는 한, 미와 서정은 이미 일정한 경계 속에 위치한 채 정지한다. 또한 그것이 향유의 차원으로만, 주체의 만족의 차원으로만 다루어질 때 그것은 자족적인 것에서 벗어나지 못한다. 미의 본질과 시의 본질을 일정한 규칙과 질서로 인식하는 것과 미지와 혼란으로 이해하는 것은 예술과 시를 바라보는 커다란 차이를 만들어낸다.
미(美)는 대상을 형태화하고 질서화하는 가운데 느끼는 만족감과 관련되며, 이질적인 것들을 어떤 원칙이나 규칙으로 결합하여 종합할 수 있다는 것에서 느끼는 만족감과 관련된다. 이에 반해 숭고는 무한대의 혼돈으로 규정 할 수 없고 이해불가능한 어떤 것에 대해 느끼는 이중적 감정, 즉 두려움이나 공포와 같은 불쾌와 매혹과 같은 쾌의 복합 감정과 관련된다. 주체의 이성의 향유로서의 미는 완결의 형태를 취하는 순간 이미 그 자체의 한계를 노정한다. 이러한 미의 한계 지점을 넘어설 수 있게 해주는 것을 숭고에서 찾을 수 있다.
