The Internet has influenced on contemporary human lives in various aspects. After the advent of the Internet in 1960"s, the popularity of the medium flourished in 1990"s. One of the Internet"s important influences is the tendency of excessive usage. College students are more inclined to immoderate use of the Internet. Due to the excessive usage of the Internet many dysfunctional effects have been shown to the college students in the educational fields. From this cognition the researcher examined college students" Internet dependency of Korean students compared to that of American students. An email survey was conducted and collected from 377 Korean and American university students. It was examined to see how Internet dependent and non-dependent groups were associated with their Internet use. How the Korean and American groups show the differences between Internet dependents and non-dependents was also studied. The results showed that the different demographic variables have different Internet dependencies.
